Residents of Cabot Estate enjoy living on 23 acres of woodlands and gardens that span the Boston-Brookline border. At their doorstep, nature's beauty abounds in stunning parks--the 1.5-mile circumference Jamaica Pond, Ward Pond, and Olmstead Park along the Muddy River--and extensive landscaped gardens within the community's grounds.
Cabot Estate's central location gives residents easy access to business, cultural, shopping, and dining opportunities in Boston, Jamaica Plain, and Brookline. Within Cabot Estate, residents and guests can take advantage of the following amenities.
Pool
The heated swimming pool is generally open from Memorial Day to Labor Day, from dawn to dusk. There is also a smaller pool for small children. Surrounding the pool are tables, chairs, and lounges. Our pool house houses men's and women's showers and bathrooms, and a refrigerator is on-site for daily use.
Generally, a pool attendant or lifeguard is on-site to ensure that pool rules are followed. Glass is not permitted in the pool area. Residents may request to have pool parties on weekdays and weekend evenings with prior approval from the Board of Trustees. Following that approval, the requestor signs a Release and Indemnity Agreement for use of the pool.
Tennis Courts
Located adjacent to the pool are two tennis courts available on a first-come-first-served basis.
Castle
The castle, which houses the Management Office, has an exercise room, the Jim Seder conference room, and a library on the first floor. Library books are donated by residents. Anyone can donate or borrow books and is expected to return them after reading. On the second floor is a billiard room located across from the management office. The conference room and library can be reserved through the Management Office.
Dog Walking Trails and Relief Areas
Dog walking trails are located throughout Cabot Estate. Dog owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pets. Plastic bags are provided in the dog relief areas.
